Mid-East Prophecy Update - June 17th, 2012

Here is Pastor JD's latest sermon on prophecy updates. In light of the elections in Egypt and Greece, and the rapid, escalating tension in Syria, he believes the Rapture could be so very close.

To skip his Father's Day intro can chat about his time off in the next two weeks, the lesson begins at 9:02 in the video.

  1. I tried listening to him, hon, but I just wanted to shout, "Get on with what you're gonna say!" But I appreciate your postings and hearing this viewpoint. The pre-trib rapture is something I have been taught all my life and every church I've belonged to teaches it, but in 1995 I was convinced that while there will be a rapture, it will not be "pre-trib."

  2. I'm sorry you didn't like his preaching style, but I suppose it's not for everyone. As far as not believing in Pre-Trib, I disagree.

Christ absorbed *ALL* of God's wrath for Christians upon the cross of Calvary. There is *NONE* left over for you and me. Therefore, God *CANNOT* pour out wrath upon His blood-bought children. We have been paid for by Christ, or else His suffering was for naught. "Dying for our sins" is a rather PC way of saying He bore the fiery wrath of Almighty God upon His shoulders for every single sin we ever have and ever will commit.

Therefore, God's wrath for *our* sins has already been poured out upon His Son. We have been "purchased" according to Scripture. We belong to Christ, therefore, before the world will feel a drop of God's wrath, He must remove His Church.

And there is no such thing as Christians going through the Trib to "purify" themselves, as we have been given HIS righteousness at the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21). We are ALREADY pure, ALREADY covered by His perfection in Spirit. Our glorification is when we get His perfection bodily. Anyone who says Christians need to be "pure" or get "pure" don't rightly understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace, not by grace + works.

The Rapture is NOT Post-Trib, either, as Paul calls it in Thessalonians our "Blessed Hope". The Trib is not a series of "really bad days", but Hell on earth. There is no hope to be found in that. The Church is never mentioned in Revelation past Chapter 3. That's because scholars believe the Church isn't present. If it's Hell on earth, you'd think some instruction would be given to the Church for survival.

In short, the Church is the Bride of Christ. We have been purchased by Him on the cross -- we literally CANNOT be subject to "double jeopardy" by enduring God's wrath on earth. Christ is not a "wife beater". He will not "beat us up" with the wrath meant for the rest of the world.

I invite you to poke around on this site as it's been open for a year and a half. I have some great stuff posted. If you don't like Pastor JD then skip his sermons. But studies done on ancient Jewish wedding traditions are fascinating and a shadow of the Rapture (when the bride is "stolen away" by the groom in the middle of the night), being hidden during the 7 year Trib (they hide away in their bridal chamber for 7 days), and then coming back for the Wedding Supper of the Lamb (when they emerge from the chamber, their marriage consummated, and everyone celebrates).

Anyway, the entire 7 year Trib is God's wrath, not just the latter 3 1/2 years. Therefor a Mid-Trib Rapture doesn't make sense either. Neither are we in the Tribulation right now, as the first four horsemen alone kill 1/4th of the earth's population, and that obviously hasn't happened yet.

Regardless, we can both agree Christ is coming back one day, and it appears as if it's sooner rather than later.

  3. (Just saw this article on the amazing net. BTW, Google "Pretrib Rapture: A Staged Event" for a great prophecy item.)

    PRETRIB RAPTURE SECRETS

How can the “rapture” be “imminent”? Acts 3:21 says that Jesus “must” stay in heaven (He's now there with the Father) “until the times of restitution of all things” which includes, says Scofield, “the restoration of the theocracy under David’s Son” which obviously can’t begin before or during Antichrist’s reign. ("The Rapture Question," by the long time No. 1 pretrib authority John Walvoord, didn't dare to even list, in its scripture index, the too-hot-to-handle Acts 3:21!) Since Jesus can’t even leave heaven before the tribulation ends (Acts 2:34,35 echo this), the rapture therefore can't take place before the end of the trib! (The same Acts verses were also too hot for John Darby - the so-called "father of dispensationalism" - to list in the scripture index in his "Letters"!)
Paul explains the “times and the seasons” (I Thess. 5:1) of the catching up (I Thess. 4:17) as the “day of the Lord” (5:2) which FOLLOWS the posttrib sun/moon darkening (Matt. 24:29; Acts 2:20) WHEN “sudden destruction” (5:3) of the wicked occurs! The "rest" for "all them that believe" is tied to such destruction in II Thess. 1:6-10! (If the wicked are destroyed before or during the trib, who'd be left alive to serve the Antichrist?) Paul also ties the change-into-immortality “rapture” (I Cor. 15:52) to the posttrib end of “death” (15:54). (Will death be ended before or during the trib? Of course not! And vs. 54 is also tied to Isa. 25:8 which is Israel's posttrib resurrection!)
Many are unaware that before 1830 all Christians had always viewed I Thess. 4’s “catching up” as an integral part of the final second coming to earth. In 1830 this "rapture" was stretched forward and turned into a separate coming of Christ. To further strengthen their novel view, which the mass of evangelical scholars rejected throughout the 1800s, pretrib teachers in the early 1900s began to stretch forward the “day of the Lord” (what Darby and Scofield never dared to do) and hook it up with their already-stretched-forward “rapture.” Many leading evangelical scholars still weren’t convinced of pretrib, so pretrib teachers then began teaching that the “falling away” of II Thess. 2:3 is really a pretrib rapture (the same as saying that the “rapture” in 2:3 must happen before the “rapture” ["gathering"] in 2:1 can happen – the height of desperation!).
Other Google articles on the 182-year-old pretrib rapture view include "Pretrib Rapture Politics," "Pretrib Rapture Scholar Wannabes," “Famous Rapture Watchers,” "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," “X-Raying Margaret,” "Edward Irving is Unnerving," “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” "Walvoord Melts Ice," “Wily Jeffrey,” “The Rapture Index (Mad Theology),” “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism,” “Scholars Weigh My Research,” “Pretrib Hypocrisy,” "Appendix F: Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thieves' Marketing," "Pretrib Rapture Secrecy," “Deceiving and Being Deceived,” "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty," and "Christ's return is NOT imminent!" – all by the author of the bestselling book “The Rapture Plot” (see Armageddon Books).
